welcoming truth

Beware:
   All too often,
   We say
   What we hear others say.

We think
What we are told that we think.

 We see
What we are permitted to see.

 Worse!

We see what we are told that we see.

Repetition and pride are the keys to this.

To hear and to see
   Even an obvious lie
   Again
   And again and again
   May be to say it,

  Almost by reflex

Then to defend it
   Because we have said it

And at last to embrace it

Because we've defended it.

popping popes

dedicate churches to
fast track
pro-life choices

ts our policy
they say
so kiss-in protesting
in Spain tests their tolerance
as they
rediscover the teachings
that homosexuality is an intrinsic disorder
nothing to do with the world order that
dominates and consecrates
the womb
the wounds

disturbing
its not my eyes
that are hurting
its all the spending that goes on pretending
it dares
in ways that it wouldn't if it wasn't safeguarded
against the loudest of bullets
redress
the regression
of rhymes over time

troubled waters flood
my soul
condemning condom use
the polemic
of protection
is more eclectic than the abuse

attitude (edited 12/1/10)

i got a problem with people who are timid and tepid
faking their strength and masking their weakness
eating up stories of everlasting gores and scores of gold
that they forget why water is sold
cold
nature became a commodity
instead of a resource

i got a problem with me for having problems with others
but i ain't never too sour to hear myself utter
excuse me miss
i didn't mean to
cause some else was narrow minded
i got to slim my light
timidly mistake a friend for a foe
but if i wasn't a butch dyke
i guess i too
would be the hoe
that fits the shoe
of asking for it
not minding her own bizz
without the right to reserve the right to kiss
